More New York Poker Clubs Close

Following reports that New York Yankees star, third baseman Alex Rodriguez, had attend a poker club with infamous poker pro Phil Hellmuth, the club was subsequently raided by police and shut down for illegal operations.

After this, the Major League Baseball reaction was to be expected; A-Rod was reprimanded for his poker playing pastimes, his team worried that being associated with illegal poker clubs would tarnish their image.

After the club was shut down in mid-October other clubs began to grow nervous; especially those operating in secret. After five more clubs were raided by the New York City police department, many more have begun to reconsider staying open. Rodriguez's agent has claimed that the ball club has not spoken to A-Rod about his visits to the poker club.
